Happy 60th Birthday to Oprah Winfrey. A true living legend. One of my inspirational and positive thinking coach.  I haven't met her in person but there are so many reasons to thank her for being part of who I am.  Her work and leadership have always inspired me to keep postive thoughts, be kind to others and to just be ME!

My favorite Oprah Quote of all time is " You were born to be real, not to be perfect. You are here to be you, not live someone else's life"    I enjoy being ME!  Happy Birthday Oprah!

I've been longing to have a vintage skirt suit in my closet for several weeks now. I put it on my thrift wish list and I found my suit at Park Avenue Thrift in Woodstock, GA. This is one of my favorite places to stop in for some resale therapy.

Thrifted Inspired by Vintage Haute Couture

I was reading an article on Vintage Haute Couture and came across this dress from the 1800's by English fashion designer, Charles Frederick Worth. He's widely considered the Father of Haute couture.  I fell in love with the details of this dress.  So regal! I recently shared this dress on Instagram and asked  where would I wear this too?!  Kudos to my Instagram family.  The majority ruled yes.  They would wear it because it's just fabulous, which I totally agree.  As we all know, there is no better place to shop then to shop your own closet.  I searched my closet and came up with this ensamble which was inspired by this 1800's dress.  See how I brought the 1800's to 2014.

I almost left this sweater behind at Goodwill. The sleeves had a slight tear.  I usually don't like to thrift anything that requires work but this was too cute to leave behind. A little alteration helped and here it is!

Angela Bassett need to tell me the secret to her youthful look. She doesn't age.  She is timeless!

I've always been a fan of ruffles.  This dress is gorgeous on Paula Patton. She worked this luminous design from the Stephane Rolland Collection.
