Vintage and Thrift- Color Block Pumps

Vintage will always have my heart when it comes to fashion.  Every now and then I get into the 80's mood and I think these peep toe pumps will be perfect to fit the mood.  These cuties were gifted to me and they are such a perfect gift. I can't wait to wear them.  They are the cutest summer vintage style pumps.  Don't be afraid to try a pair of vintage shoes.  They are classic and timeless.

Vintage and Thrift: Polk Dots and Stripes

Polka Dots and Stripes.  I usually stay away from stripes.  I'm a curvy girl and I feel the pattern adds an extra pound or two on me or it may just be showing the truth.  LOL  (I need to face it).  I'm always a fan of polka dots. It's a funky 70's to 80's pop.  Polka dots are simple and elegant and also trendy this Spring. See how I rocked my thrifted stripes and polka dots.

Vintage and Thrift: Dolman Sleeve Sweater Dress and 2Queens Vintage Necklace

It's a new week, another chance to get it right and of course, more day to day opportunity to enjoy life in the thrift and vintage world.  Diana Ross is the queen of dolman sleeves. I first fell in love with dolman sleeves after seeing her grace stages and seeing the many photos of her in dolman sleeves dresses.  I scored this sweater dress at Smyrna Thrift Store for $3.95.

I added some drama with this neck piece from 2Queens Vintage in Atlanta

Vintage and Thrift: Plaid and Stripes

We're gearing up and heading into the second week of February also known as "the love month". This year is going to fly by us. The days, weeks, months are going by too quickly.  Oh well, I can only make the best of each day, smile, thrift and save!

I'm still shopping my closet and continuing to challenging myself to be creative with the clothing in my closets that I haven't worn in a while or I've thrifted and haven't worn yet. This blouse is a sweet repeat.  It's one of my very first purchases from House of uBuhle, an online resale vintage store almost two years ago.  I have styled this blouse to the office and to church in so many ways. It's versatile, comfortable and sexy at the same time.
I found this lovely Pendleton tartan plaid 70's vintage skirt from Smyrna Thrift Store in Smyrna, GA.
I believe this cost me less than $5.00 and the tag was still on it for $110.00

Vintage and Thrift: The Color Purple

I'm still shopping my closet! This dress was gifted to me by one of my thrift sisters over a year ago.  The dress doesn't have a tag on it but I love the quality of the material and the print.  The print blew me away.   I could wear this in so many ways.  That touch of purple was what caught my eyes. This is now one of my main go to pieces in my closet.

I went crazy at Walgreens. They had all sorts of colored tights for $2.00.  Colored tights adds fun to a wardrobe.

Vintage and Thrift: Tracy Chambers Vintage (Vintage from Paris)

Can you believe it has been two years since I came across one of Brooklyn's hidden gems, Tracy Chambers Vintage?! When ever I visit my parents in New York, I feel as if my trip is not complete without a visit to Tracy Chambers Vintage.  Helen Nurse, the owner recently went to Paris this summer and scored some amazing pieces for her boutique.  Let me tell you, I was in vintage heaven during my recent visit. Helen scored some awesome pieces while in Paris. Every piece was unique and fabulous!  I scored one of her Paris finds.  Check out this dress.  It's just perfect for me! The colors, so fall, so Diana Ross as Tracy Chambers in Mahogany.  Check out how I made this fabulous vintage dress from Paris into a great career dress. Perfect for a women in the office.

2013 Thrifted Favorites

One amazing thing about entering a new year, is that chance of having another opportunity to get it right.  Each day we breathe is a gift. I make sure to enjoy that gift. I surely enjoyed this year with my family and friends.  The continuing support is what keeps me going.  I've met some phenomenal women this year.  They've inspired me in so many ways. I'm always told life is about being inspired and inspiring others. I'm in agreement with that. 2013 I was inspired to bring my thrifty fashion to my blog.  Thrifting is so much fun and creative and can I say money saver! You don't have to break the bank to look and feel fabulous. "Look Fly on a Dime"  Check out some of my favorite thrifted finds this year.
